How To Become A Motivational Speaker With..... Eric Bailey

Choose your topic and develop your idea

What do you want to talk about? Choose the topic you want to talk about (make sure you have enough knowledge about it) and start developing your ideas. Spend a great amount of time thinking about how you can develop fresh, new, original content that will truly inspire and motivate your audience.

Identify your audience

Who wants to hear about your topic? Where are these people? It might sound obvious, but in fact, many people may be lost at the beginning.

Defining your niche will be extremely useful to help you to understand who’s your audience, how you can reach out to them, how you should develop your content to effectively convey your message.

Practice

Practice makes it perfect, right? In order to get ready and confident in your speaking skills, practice, test your content. Record yourself and watch yourself on video. How do you see yourself?

What is the part of your presentation that works really well, and what can be improved? Remember, there is always room for improvement. Even the most successful motivational speakers are continuously improving, changing, and modifying their content to better suit the next audience.

Prepare your marketing strategy

Start developing your content and your marketing strategy. Build your social media account, website, blog, youtube channel, you name it. Start talking about the message you want to convey.

Become proficient and respected on the topic. It will be easier for businesses and brands to trust you, which will up your chances of getting hired.

Sign up for Conventions that offer speaking opportunities

Research for conventions that seek speakers. Make sure they are aligned to your content and your right audience. Although you may have to speak for free, it is a great way to test your skills, gain more confidence and also receive some feedback.

The bottom line

Becoming a motivational speaker takes effort, time, and dedication to build your reputation and gain more opportunities. It does not happen overnight.
